Darrell E. Morton was the only child born to Mary Barlow-Morton and Ernest B. Morton on August 16, 1949. He attended IPS elementary school #20 and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1967. He then went on to attend Indiana Central Business College at night (3) years 1967-1970.
MWPGM Morton has a passion for helping his community he has been involved in the community for several decades, but none of his many activities has been as rewarding to him as watching three (3) of the members he personally recruited to join the Boy Scouts make to that high rank of Eagle Scout in 1994 & 1995. A level achieved by only two percent of all Boy Scouts. Darrell volunteered to be Scoutmaster of an IPL-sponsored inner city Boy Scout troop in 1988. Darrell was named Scout Master of the Year in 1991. Darrell has served as church treasurer, twenty-three years as chairman of the board of stewards at Trinity CME Church in Indianapolis. He was also appointed to the Joint Board of Finance by Bishop E. Lynn Brown to serve the Second Episcopal District of the C.M.E. Church, which covers Cincinnati-Dayton-Indiana Region.
